Reward scope and requirements:

Outstanding team recognition in the field of crop science; academic and research achievements reach a national top level; have an authorized and effective patent or proprietary intellectual property rights, while showing the ability to carry out continuous innovation and achievements; have contributed to a number of economic and / or social developments, and gained important achievements in terms of basic research.

Qualifications:

(1) The innovation team must show a high level of talent, resource integration and openness; a reasonable team structure; advanced organization and management skills; and a good operation mechanism. The supporting unit must provide a strong support platform, and the overall team must show a strong ability to carry out continuing research and development, and serve society.

(2) There must be no disputes over the ownership of the achievements. 

(3) Previous winners of national science and technology awards are not permitted to apply.

(4) The team leader should be a recognized academic leader in the relevant crop science field, or have served as chief scientist or core technical leader of major science and technology projects in the main research field of the innovation team; have profound academic attainments and innovative academic goals; love the motherland; and follow good scientific ethics. The first team leader should be the leader who is currently working on the research front line.

(5) Team members should be citizens of the People's Republic of China.

(6) Main members of the team (at least the top five) must have been members of the CSSC for at least two years.

Award Period and Quota: This award is carried out once every two years (herein one term) to only one winning team.
