Awarded to: scientific and technological workers who have made outstanding achievements and significant contributions to crop science and technology in China.

Qualifications:

(1) Must support the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s underlying principles and policies; be firm in ideology and politics; resolutely safeguard the core position of General Secretary Xi Jinping as the Party Central Committee Leader and the core positions of the entire Party; resolutely safeguard the authority, and centralized and unified leadership of the CCP Central Committee; love the motherland; adopt good work and study ethics; be a law-abiding citizen; and strictly abide by scientific ethics.

(2) Must satisfy one of the following:

a. Within the field of crop science and technology, academic theory and technology, and other related fields, has been recognized by peers or society as having made innovative achievements.

b. Has promoted the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into products and / or services; developed, applied and popularized scientific and technological achievements; formed new crop varieties, new technologies, new standards and / or large-scale application demonstrations; and brought about remarkable economic, social and / or ecological benefits.

c. Has carried out experiments and demonstrations, technology popularization, popularization consultation and / or science communication activities; and provided high-quality public service products related to science and technology, generating significant social benefits.

(3) Must be a citizen of the People's Republic of China.

(4) Must have been a member of the CSSC for at least two years.

(5) Academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and winners of previous scientific and technological achievement awards are not permitted to apply.

Award Period and Quota: This award is carried out once every two years (herein one term) and given to no more than two winners.
